Esatto's startup Ecometrix joins Vinnova project for climate-neutral concrete

Esatto is one of five co-owners of Ecometrix, a digital startup aimed at reducing CO2 emissions across multiple industries. Ecometrix is now joining Betcrete 3.0 as an external partner, a national collaborative project within the cement and concrete industry, with the goal of achieving climate-neutral concrete by 2045.

Since 2022, Esatto has been a co-owner of Ecometrix, which is now taking the next step in its development as a company. The company has been rebranded as Ecometrix (previously known as Hållbarhetsindikatorn) and is also in the final stages of appointing a new external CEO. Ecometrix has gained significant momentum by becoming one of the partners in the Vinnova-funded project Betcrete 3.0, which began in December 2022 and will run for two years. The project has a budget of 44 million SEK.

What does Ecometrix do, and how will it contribute to the project?

In brief, Ecometrix is a digital service that creates industry-specific sustainability indicators. These are collected on a platform that makes various sustainability data understandable and accessible. Ecometrix has developed a methodology and process and will, during the Betcrete 3.0 collaboration, develop a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) using real data. Previously, the company focused on tests, experiments, and validations.

“We have a method that allows different industries to develop key figures, KPIs, or indicators that are specific and relevant to each industry. We present the data and make it understandable and accessible in a digital service. This is one of several sustainability initiatives we have been working on at Esatto for a long time – it feels both important and exciting to be part of such a project and to start making a real difference”, says Björn Sundqvist, co-owner, business developer, and Esatto's lead in Ecometrix.

About Betcrete 3.0

Betcrete 3.0 is a national collaboration project focused on the cement and concrete industries' roadmaps for reducing CO2 emissions. The overarching goal is to reduce CO2 emissions from concrete by mobilising the entire value chain in climate work, addressing collaboration issues, legislative and financial challenges, and technical solutions.

The project is funded by Vinnova, with RISE serving as the project leader. A total of 24 partners are involved in the collaboration, with Ecometrix, through Esatto, being one of them.
